Like a broken AC
Can't satisfy anyone
Like a broken chair
Unable to do anything

She is as beautiful as a rose
Her eyes were like a dancing butterfly
Her lips were like strawberry ice cream
And her hair, was as beautiful as Rapunzel

Father is to mother
As son is to daughter
If something's a bother
Tell what's the matter?

She looks like a witch
Her eyes are frozen
She sounded like a old woman
It's the witch from Hansel and Gretel

A Flight Almost Fright

On Friday, 25 April 2014 - Ngurah Rai, Bali. All flights in the airport were delayed because of a suspected drunk passenger in the Virgin Air bound to Australia. He was said to be terrorizing everyone even during the take-off.

The Virgin Air arrived safely in the airport and a drunk man in the plane was knocking on the pilot’s room. His name is Matt Christopher. It happened when the plane was still in the air. The pilot felt annoyed so he reported that the plane was hijacked. There were so many soldiers and police but it turned out that it was not a hijack.

The Spartans 7 of Sekolah Mentari walked for one and a half hours around the airport because of the delay. Many panicked because of what happened and everyone in the airport were talking about the cause of the delay. Many passengers waited in the waiting room and wondered when will this end, thinking that it was going to take a really long time in the waiting room.

CSW in Bali

Sekolah Mentari Grand Surya was having their CSW on 21st April. CSW were an educational study week out from the school, like we went to another city with our classmates to study there, for a while. So, early in the morning 21st April at 2:30 am, I woke up. I was really sleepy, but I keep myself awake. My eyes can’t open widely, straightly away at 3:30 am, my family and I went to the airport. Right there, my friends had gathered with Pak Hari. We waited for 15 minutes before we checked in. For the ;ast time, after we checked in, we ran rapidly up staiors, downstairs and to the airplane,. Its just like no used of wak8ing up early in the morning, but still gotten late. The airplane took off at 6:00 am. There, we went to Tanah Lot and the beach. Wow that was a cool beach. Big temples, waves. Unfortunately, the temperature was relly, extremely hot, and the cool places were only few.
Actually, after we went to Tanah Lot, we were supposed to go to the museum. But, since we were all tired from the morning and the present temperature, many of us, cant really stand of it. So we directly go to the hotel. The name of the hotel was Sanur Hotel. in the evening, we had a dinner in Kemangi and watch Lengong dance. It was very beautiful and interesting; some of my classmates were ask to go to the stage to dance too.
The next day, we went water rafting. there, all of the Mentarians were exshauted because before we start the rafting, we need to go down for 400 steps. By the time, we finished the rafting, we had our lunch. Everybody was wet and tire. After having lunch, our stomach feels really good. then we went upstairs again for 200 stair steps. afterwards, we went to Laka Leke; where we paint the kite and egg and stayed there for the rest of the day untill evening for learning the kecak dance. In Kecak dance, we need to be devided into 3 groups for the sounds. There were also a lot of movements that was learned. After a few practices, we had our dinner and we perform in front of our teachers with the senior Kecak dancers.
On the third day, we went to the farming place called Sawah Indah, there we need to jump in to the mud, to learn how to pierce the paddy. Then we learn how to plow the field by using the buffalo. In the mud, our feet feels like really cool, and sticky. Afterwards we went to Gunung Kawi, the place where the Balinese people  place the king's ash and the palace in the past.  In the evening, we went to GWK which is Garuda Wisnu Kencana. It is the place where we found lots of big cliffs adn statues. Also, an outstanding Kecak Performance and a delicate dinner.
For the next day, we went to Ubud for cycling. Some of us didn't join the cycling because they can't cycle. So, they use the car to follow up the cycling people. In the middle of the way, we pause for a while.  Trickling sweats can be seen. We pause to see the making of Luwak coffee, and what makes it so special and expensive. Then, they continue their way. as the one who can't cycle stay at the car. In the aftenoon, we went to Balerung. This is where we studied another dance; which is Lenggong Dance. Afterwards, we went back to the hotel to take our things to get ready to the beach. We played and swam in the beach untill the sun sets and continued by dinner. We left the beach at 8:30.
Last Day, the first destination was to Krishna; the souvenier shop. we got 2 hours to shopping then straight away to the airport. Supposedly Sekolah Mentari Grand Surya took off at 2 pm, since we had a delay that was caused by the Vrigin Airline. News said that the aircraft was hijacked. So we wait for an hour and start took off at 15:00 pm.  Sekolah Mentari Grand Surya at last reached at Bandara Soekarno Hatta on 16:00 pm, and that is the end of our CSW program.
It was really fun, yet it was so tiring.

Top 5 Reasons

On Friday, April 4th 2014, Sekolah Mentari Grand Surya had a speech fest. The event takes place at the school auditorium at 8.20 am. The grade 7 students were the speakers and they invited the grade 4-6 students to evaluate their speeches and to be the voters.

The voters voted for their top 5 reasons why they like the speech. There were a total of 14 reasons and 255 votes.
The results were:
1. Clarity or voice & understanding with 100 votes
2. Topic-relevance with 53 votes
3. Confidence with 25 votes
4. Movement with 22 votes
5. Expression and mastery with each 14 votes

There are also other reasons that didn’t make it in the top 5. Appearance with 11 votes, speed with 9 votes, pronounciation with 2 votes, and length of the speech, vocabulary, pictures, presentation and title with each 1 vote.

Some of the voters paid attention and understood the speeches, but there are also some voters that didn’t really paid attention to the speakers and so they just randomly vote.

Clarity is important for understanding. If their voice isn’t clear, the voters wouldn’t understand what their speech is all about. The topic is also important because if the topic interests the voters they would pay attention more. Confidence is needed for speakers to perform their speeches clearly. Movement shows the speaker’s expression and feelings of how they react to the topic. The reasons that aren’t on the top 5 are also important such as speed. The speakers have to talk slowly so that the audience can understand the speech more.
